Arvind Rajan

(Co-founder)

Arvind Rajan, PhD, is a senior advisor to financial firms, asset managers, asset owners, and governments. He is a financial markets executive with extensive experience in various asset classes, including Emerging Markets, Global bonds, Mortgage and Asset Backed Securities (including Subprime), Structured Credit, and Corporate Debt. His subject matter expertise includes fixed income investment, macro analysis, proprietary trading, quantitative research, derivatives, modeling  and risk management. He is also experienced in applying quantitative methods, AI/ML and data science to asset management.

Mani Sabapathi

(Co-founder)

Mani Sabapathi is a senior investment executive who has overseen investments and risk across a number of asset classes, including Mortgages and Structured Products, Global Bonds, Emerging Markets, US Credit Markets, Credit Derivatives, and Options strategies across multiple asset classes (FX, credit and equity).  He has strong subject matter expertise in fixed income, structured products, macro analysis, derivatives, volatility strategies, and quantitative methods (including use of AI and ML for investing).  He brings a strong risk mindset (thank you Society of Actuaries) and quantitative background to go along with strong technical training in engineering and computer science.  This background helps him be innovative and provocative in investment and risk analysis.  He has been sought out by regulators and policy makers (including NAIC, FASB, SEC, Federal reserve and the US Treasury) to provide expert views and help assess policy and regulatory implications.  He has also been a frequent speaker at numerous industry and client conferences.

Michael Lu

Michael Lu is a third year student at Brown University studying applied mathematics and computer science. He has a background in data science and software engineering and a strong passion in working with data. At BPGS, Michael has worn multiple hats and worked on a variety of projects, including the re-architecture and streamlining of the quantitative algorithm software, research into improving the performance through enhancing the algorithms, and contributions to the management and hiring process.

Nalini (Lena) Rajan

At Basis Point Global Solutions, Lena leads user interface and user experience. Lena’s responsibilities include website design, implementation, and management, and developing and enhancing social media presence through channels such as blogs, videos, podcasts, and tweets. 

Lena worked for Macmillan Learning from 2018-2020 as a Tier 3 Associate Support Analyst. Lena was responsible for solving problems experienced by users of Macmillan’s online learning platforms.

Lena graduated from New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with Minors in Computer Science and in Web Programming and Applications. In fall of 2020 Lena completed an immersive certificate program about user experience design

Nils A. Collins

Nils is currently enrolled at UT Austin studying Computer Science and Mathematics. He is expected to graduate in December 2023. Following his graduation, he intends to embark on a Master's program in Computer Science. At BPGS, he developed a comprehensive database to store essential stock data and addresses bridging the gap between fundamental analysis and computing capabilities. After Hours, he enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking, and hiking.

Stefan Pham

Stefan is an undergraduate student attending UC Berkeley; he is currently majoring in Computer Science and Physics and will graduate in the Spring of 2025. With a keen interest in the field of computer science, Stefan plans to pursue a master’s degree in the same discipline.  He previously was involved in research in high energy physics and computational physics at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Outside of academics and research, Stefan likes to explore the great outdoors through hiking and mountain biking. He also enjoys developing video games, weightlifting, and reading.

Teja Vuppu

Teja Vuppu holds a degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the renowned Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, with a micro specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Applications. Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science at Pace University, Teja's primary focus is on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. At BPGS, he applies fundamental data analysis to quantitative stock selection. Outside of work, Teja finds joy in playing chess, reading books, and playing cricket. He is also engaged with puzzles on Quant Guide.

Pranav Sabapathi

Pranav is an undergraduate student attending the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering set to graduate in Spring 2026. At Basis Point Global, he is analyzing fundamental data to find trends and correlations to improve BPG’s strategies. Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports, skiing, and making music.
